6a Gaff Cutter Cushion
This iconic image of a Gaff Cutter with three headsails sailing in light winds decorates our square sailcloth cushion and it is based upon traditional fishing boats of the 19th century.
The cushion is available in two different colour ways, red or white.
We use excellent quality white recycled sailcloth when it is available, or, when unavailable we use new sailcloth. The red sailcloth is only available as recycled sailcloth.
The sail shapes are cut by hand from dark blue and cherry red sailcloth and stitched on with traditional zig zag stitch.
These particular red cushions are made from a mainsail off the Redwing No 18 "Red Gauntlet". This mainsail won Cowes Week for five years in a row and was made by Paul in 1987. This red cloth is exclusive to the Redwing class and is ever popular.
The cushion pad is removable through an envelope opening at the back of the cushion and is excellent quality polyester.
The cushions reflect our nautical heritage and would appeal to anyone who loves the sea with an interest in history.
They look stunning on a boat but equally they look charming in a coastal inspired living room or conservatory.

They can be washed gently by hand at 30 degrees centigrade with eco-friendly washing powder. Shape and hang to dry naturally. Please do not be tempted to add bleach or tumble dry.
Please follow the washing instructions on the cushion pad.
